There was one world leader absent for today’s commemorations marking the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Surprisingly enough, it’s President Barack Obama

27 world leaders and Gorby were there. The 'leader of the free world'? Absent.

Truth be told, the fucker doesn't want to upset his pro-USSR pal, William Ayres, by observing the beginning of the end of communism.

I guess going to Fort Hood was more important to him today.

Well... I can agree with that one... The guy can't be everywhere at the same time, and his "own" people NOW are more important than a remembrance that will be there next year too.

He had planned well before this to not be in Berlin. The terror attack at Fort Hood was not an impediment to his being in Berlin yesterday, he could have easily been at both events. Remember the man has his very own 747 at his disposal to make such things possible.

And if he'd gone to Berlin this thread would have been all about "why didn't he go to Ft Hood instead of palling around with Euro-weenie socialist leftists? What, does he hate American soldiers or something? Doesn't he care about Americans? HE HATES AMERICA, THAT GODDAMN COMMIE DARKIE HATES AMERICA!!!!!!!".

It's easier to read and figure you people out than it is the average comic book.

Whatever whoever does lately, it is never good enough. I will be glad when the days to remember are over for a while.

Well, I bet he won't show up for your birthday either and you'll all be pissed about that.

I guess he just lounges around his ranch in Texas in his spare time...I mean he is only the President of the United States - What could he possibly have to do besides fly around the world to attend ceremonies?

Stephen Harper wasnt there either...must mean hes a socialist too! All Obama did was send Hillary Clinton and then he delivered a live video address! Oh my god, that must mean he wishes the wall was still up!

In fact it appears the British PM Gordon Brown and French President Sarkozy were the ONLY foreign leaders to travel for the ceremony! Wow, the whole world really is part of a vast socialist conspiracy!

Then people would have complained he was there for a too short period of time...

I've been looking for new perspectives on Obama's Peace Prize...
Feel free to consider an alternate POV at the link below, and have your own say in light of today's events:

I can't really read well enough into the man's motives to say why he didn't go to the Berlin Wall ceremony, and I don't care to impute something undeserved on him. I appreciate the trip to Fort Hood, and will let it stay at that.
