It's probably the only fight they can win, and that's still not guaranteed.

Interesting how this is barely a beep on the radar of MSM.

The MSM has a standing policy of NEVER reporting anything even remotely negative about Muslims. Islam is a 'religion of peace' to them and any facts that stand in opposition to that belief are simply ignored.

Considering that Saudi Arabia is the most religous muslim country and is a Sunni muslim country, I dont see how they would receive flack from Muslims eleshwere, most of whom are also Sunni. The only one who could possibly complain would be Iran, which probably has ties to the Shiite rebels under attack.

The Obama Administration put an end to the alert status about six months ago.

And, I have to ask; you're learning about our media first hand or are you just parroting what you heard on CBC or from Mr. Canada?

Truth is there's probably just fery few details to report. If they had film or a reporter anywhere near it they maybe there'd be more info. To be fair there wasnt much reported about this shiite rebellion in the first place.

Apart from the fact that I lived in Florida for 5 years, both before and after 9/11, you should know that we actually get all the big american tv channels here in The Great White North. Its a few days by dogsled to get the newspaper, so tv is really convenient now that we have electricity in our igloos.

Oh and FYI, your colour-coded terror alert system is still in effect, although a review panel created by Bush admin has leveled plenty of criticism about its effetiveness since and is reviewing the system yet again.

Yeman has had separatist movements in its north and south for decades. This is an internal matter more about a group that wants independence from the central govt and not primarily about al qaeda or anything like that.

Well, you're right. Obama said he was getting rid of it and I guess I should know better than to believe him.

As to our media...are you paying attention? They are very reluctant to use Muslim names when speaking of people who get arrested for terror-related crimes. Whenever possible they use the person's name from before they became a Muslim, such as in the case of 'John Walker-Lindh' whose legal name is actually Sulayman al-Faris.

Myself, I find it ironically disrespectful of the media not to use someone's preferred name when speaking of them.
