A 35-mile rift in the desert of Ethiopia will eventually become a new ocean or sea, researchers now confirm.

    While an interesting update, this is hardly new. I learned of the African triple junction back in 1980.

    The 'crack' happened in 2005, scientists have just now confirmed that this is what happens on ocean floors.

    I didn't know they had crack in Africa, I only thought it was in California, Detroit, and parts of New York City...OHHH, A crack...Nevermind!
