When I was in the cadets in Thunder Bay we went on an exercise in the middle of winter. It must of been -40 at least and I nearly went down with hypothermia.

yeah, I've always said I love the snow, just hate the cold that's associated with it. I'd be happy as all get out if it snowed when it was like 75 degrees. Now THAT would rock

... and nobody is shooting at you and no IEDs.
Between the Arctic and Kandahar, I'd choose the Arctic.
Putting soldiers in the Artic is nothing but a visual defense thing. Got soldiers up there freezing there nuts off for nothing.
I always dug the cold, between the Artic and Afghanistan. Hard to choose but I still wouldn't mind a Artic job. Despite being useless IMO. The Artic is too cold for any kind of warfare or defense.
It might be cold but it can be done. It just sucks to do it!
Weapons can operate under those conditions as can "most" vehicles.
The bold I can completely agree with but it is our land and we should demonstrate that we can and will defend it.
