Top American defence officials called North Korea's nuclear threat more lethal than ever even as an envoy from the Communist regime was headed Wednesday to the United States to discuss the issue.

If they get too yappy their Chinese masters may give their leash a good, hard yank to settle them down. The last thing they want is an international conflict in their back yard.

Exactly. Nobody wants to see a North Korean nuke, but this idea that they'll build one and launch some kind of attack is pretty alarmist.

Say what you want about Dear Leader, but his intention is to cling to power for as long as humanly possible. While building a nuke may help him in that regard, launching it certainly won't.

This is more typical "rattlesnaking". Just like Iran and every two-bit dictatorship, the leader needs to rattle his tail every once in a while just to remind the international community to take a wide birth. It's nothing to be too concerned about. When these lunatic regimes get quiet, then we need to start watching closely.
