Cox: Leafs should go after Brendan Shanahan

If the Maple Leafs are smart, they might want to get to Brendan Shanahan before the NHL Players' Association does. Could Shanahan fix all that ails the Leafs? No, not even close, unless he's got a mask and some pads lying around his garage that he know

I say "Bring him in!" What have they got to lose? It's not like he's going to upset the chemistry in the locker room, there isn't any!

Shanahan was a great player in his day but he's 41 now....

True, but he's still better than 9/10ths of the players they've got now.

What I find truly amazing is Burke and Bob Gainey. These two intrepid hockey people went two different routes when building their teams, Burke with the big intimidating players and Gainey with the small fast players, yet both of them arrived at the same result, a piss poor hockey team.

    Go figure?
