Governor General receives first poppy

Michaëlle Jean, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada and Patron of the Royal Canadian Legion, received the first symbolic poppy of the year at Rideau Hall in Ottawa on October 13, 2009, as part of the national poppy campaign.
