    When I lived in Nova Scotia many years ago it was well known that if you wanted some booty you made sure that your MP was of the party that would form the government. Looks like things haven't changed.

    Yes, a long Canadian political tradition. In Nova Scotia the ability to spread the pork can be a big factor in getting an MP reelected. As no doubt it is elsewhere.
