A picture of a $200 Thanksgiving turkey in a High Arctic community has people talking about the high cost of living in Canada's far North.

There should be an organized 'show and shame ' campaign for the North stores.
There was one in Slovakia several years ago; the price of an armoir in Slovakia was almost double the cost in Austria, straight from the catalogue.
The company's response: shipping costs.. for 60 km.
A little competition wouldn't hurt either.

Yes the stores are entitled to shipping but come on most of it is trucked half or better of the way their now . I can see air being pricey all the more reason to open it up to the south.
