Transport Minister John Baird, who is responsible for infrastructure programs, has scoffed at opposition demands for greater transparency in reporting where the stimulus cash is going. He's suggested he'd rather spend money on real infrastructure projects than a fancy website such as that sponsored by the U.S. government.

The reality is the public doesn't care. It knows we are in relatively good shape. Third quarter almost certain to see some GDP growth, house sales up, increase in jobs and of course our banking system avoided the disasters elsewhere. The public liked the one thing that affected them the most, the home improvement credit.

Gerard Kennedy raised this recently and nobody listened. The CPC's huge lead in the polls is not only due to disintegration of the Liberal Party but because the public is satisfied with the government.

The Opposition's best strategy right now is to avoid yapping about an election (kudos to Jack Layton) be cooperative where warranted, fight those issues they disagree with and hope that by next Spring they will be in a better shape for an election.

Isn't all this the reason why Iggy put us "on probation" anyways? What happened with that anyways.. It sort of fell apart when Iggy decided to draw his line in the sand.

Sounds like the Liberals in their heyday.

That's a problem with government spending. You have to be naive to think most of the money will be used efficiently and in a clever way.

Obama has the same problem in the USA.
