WINDSOR, Ont. — Truckers from across Canada were fuming Wednesday night as word spread that Ontario police fined a driver $305 for smoking in his rig, which the law considers his workplace.
"Lemmy" said So if I work out of my home (no other employees) I can get a ticket for smoking!
Not if you refuse to let the cop into your house, which is your right. But if he sees me though a window, he can, which is pretty much how the trucker got a ticket.

I'm sure the truckers are quite happy to consider it a workplace when it comes to the enforcement of occupational health and safety laws. In that case it works to their advantage.

Smoking in my workplace isn't a criminal offense?
Not yet, but I'm sure Uncle Stevie's considering it.
Where can you smoke even?
Wait so can someone fill me in on this smoke free law?
Where can you smoke even?
In your coffin.
Dunno!

So really...could you get in trouble for smoking in a park or in front of a business?
you could depending on the local by-laws.
