Less than a week after Prime Minister Stephen Harper railed against "left-wing ideologues" in Canada's court system, he appointed five judges with ties to the Conservative Party of Canada, Canwest News Service has learned.

    just remember all judges were once lawyers..ethics are always questionable.

    Yep, you have politicians, pretty much a guarantee that their ethics are skewed, appointing a lawyer to a position of power... :? ...and somehow people think this isn't a fox loose in the hen house no matter how you look at it? Boil it down, a crook appoints a crook to pass judgement on crooks... PDT_Armataz_01_05

    Exactly, and many politicians were lawyers too.
    I'd be supprised if you could find 5 lawyers who didn't have political ties to any party.

    Canada needs to adopt an American style system where judges and senators are elected
