Suaad Hagi Mohamud's fight to have the federal government pay the costs of her legal battle to get back into Canada went to court Tuesday and three Liberal MPs from Toronto have demanded that the government apologize and "settle the case."

I'm glad that none of these guys is my MP because I would telling them to butt out - that there is enough doubt about this case that we need the air cleared through a trial.

At a late-morning news conference in Ottawa, MPs Dan McTeague, Joe Volpe and Bob Rae, who all represent Toronto ridings, produced new documents they say prove the government knew for months about the plight of the woman trapped in Africa, unable to get home to her family in Toronto.

Actually, she didnt. As I pointed out on the other active thread on this topic, it was in fact her all along, and there is no DIRECT evidence of use by another person. The question seems to be why did she provide incorrect info on her original immigration application. This is the info she couldnt verify after she was detained which led the gov to believe there was a second person involved. There may still be a fraud case against her here, but there are other explanations as well, such as negligence or malfeasance on the part of an immigration lawyer or agent who often complete these forms for their clients.

You might believe her but I don't and I'm not alone. She's a liar.

I didnt say I believe her, in fact I said its possible there is a fraud case, I dont know the details any more than you do.

The difference between you and I is that you're chosing to rush to a conclusion in absence of all the facts just to satisfy your inner lynch mob. You also seem very quick to judge others who have less ZEAL for an issue than you do and make statements like "you might believe her" when clearly thats not what I said or call them communist or whatever, which is unfortunate. Maybe you're just young, but I think you'll find that the best decisions in this world get made when people think clearly, take time to get all the facts before rushing to judgment and dont polarize discussions into oversimplified black/white, with-me-or-against-me paradigms.

Rae said that "to continue to drag this through the courts when the information is so clear is nothing short of disgraceful."

Bob Rae is a complete retard.

This is the same guy who looked people dead in the face and denied that Michael Ignatieff ever supported a coalition.

He wouldn't know clarity if it took a dump on his face.

And you base your view of me on what? You should keep your personal views of me out of this.

    That's exacly it,
    1. The facts are not clear and if she's just trying to screw the system then she's the Liberal white horse for sure.
    2. The Libs will jump on any trump that helps their opposition of everything Harper, especially when it comes to the immigrant/minority votes
    3. She should go ahead and sue, then we can get the truth from both sides, If she misinformed Immigration on her original application she's screwed either way, if not then more of our $ go to recompinsate someone that none of us had anything to do with, either way the Libs lose in my mind.

I have no personal view of YOU, only of the opinions you express on this site, which often have a reactive tone to them, especially when the topic theme is conflict between the 'powers that be/established order' and some select group (to which I assume you dont belong like unions or immigrants). And Im not singling you out in particlaur, there are several people on here with similar tones. In these cases, its never "A has a point and B has a point, but I think Im going to side with B on this one," instead, its "A has all the points and B has none, how dare B even express an opposing idea, the whole lot of them are liars and ought to be fired/deported!"

if thats not what you intended, than thats how your writing style reads. Again, youre not the only one.

That about sums it up. It'll make the Libs look good in the eyes of those groups that they cultivate. And the next election will be long before the trial is over.
