The United Nations Security Council unanimously approved a U.S.-sponsored resolution Thursday calling on states with nuclear weapons to rid themselves of their deadly stockpiles.

    Yea right, no way Russia or the USA would get rid of all their nukes. Unless the USA has some new more powerful weapon that we do not know about (excluding chemical and bio)

    Why are we excluding chemical and bio? The Yanks have a super-bug that could wipe out all human life on earth in a month. They also have an antidote.

    The troubling thing is the only folks really big on population reduction are the loony enviromental wackos. The Maurice Strongs of the world who are deep into the UN Enviromental scare are also the ones who are calling for radical reductions of humans to restore "sustainability".

    U.S. President Barack Obama told the 15-member council in New York City that the next year would be critical in the global effort to nuclear weapons.

    So which is it? Elimination or reduction?

    I can't see the U.S. disarming their nukes until they have ensured that absolutely no country has anything even resembling a nuke left. Unfortunately, I don't believe this will ever happen.

    pipe dream, when Isreal gets rid of theirs, maybe everyone can get rid of theirs, chances of that happening seem to be zero, i think they are all trying to make themselves fell better, by being able to say" at least we tried"

    Remember the land mine treaty - ratified by every country, except those that use land mines, like the US, Israel, China, Pakistan...
