Michael Wilson’s opinion of free trade with the United States has come a long way since he dismissed it as a “simplistic and naive” idea that would “diminish our ability to compete internationally.”

Michael Ignatieff, the Liberal leader, is unimpressed by these efforts, dismissing them as “amateur hour.”

“We have a very, very serious problem with this relationship and I don’t think I’m going to be able to fix it until I become prime minister,” he said on CTV’s Question Period, with typical self-effacement.

I used to think Pat Martin was the most arrogant MP in the House. Then he was superseded by Tom Mulcair. But compared to Lord Ig those two Dips are merely, well, "amateur hour".

This guy thinks that because he went to Harvard and Mr O has read one of his books Obama is going to bend over for him when Ignatieff walks in the Oval Office? The issue is not "relationship"; it's convincing Obama (and Congress) to change his mind and I have seen nothing in Ignatieff to suggest he is up to the task.
