An international border crossing at a Cornwall, Ont., bridge between Canada and the United States was shut down for about five hours Saturday afternoon amid ongoing tensions between the Canada Border Services Agency and area Mohawks.

    Another tinderbox waiting to explode.

The customs office used to be on the island until the firearms issue arose. It's now at the Cornwall end of the bridge. Anyone living on the island is expected to cross the bridge and go through customs and then go back to the island. Many don't so they don't go though customs at all returning from the US.

Maybe the Mohawks will let CBSA back on the island now?
