My guess is that the meeting Murray and Heatley had yesterday and the meeting Heatley had with Alfie and Philips (Alfie said Heatley didn't offer any explanation other than the BS he offered in August) made Murray complete that trade. I think he thought the dbag wasn't worth keeping around, especially since Heatley didn't feel like he had to explain anything to his teammates.
Hard to say - if Cheechoo could get back (or close to) his 2005-6 season, than it's a good deal. I hope he just needs a change of scenery.
I'm not sure about Michalek except that he is still young and seems pretty consistent. I guess time will tell, but at this point, I'm just glad he's gone.
Yeah, for Alfie to say that, he must have been pretty unimpressed. He said he tried to contact Heatley during the summer (they have the same agent) and Healtey never returned his calls. And I wouldn't be surprised if Alfie told Murray to get rid of the clown in any way possible.
EDIT: I must say that I was looking forward to the season opener and I was looking forward for Don Brennan to ask him after every game if he was satisfied with his ice time... Maybe someone in San Jose could take over Brennan
Never seen a Shark with a case of terminal cancer before. Next to the Oilers taking Comrie back this has to go down as the dumbest move of the off-season thus far.
It ought to take about three months before Thornton says enough is enough and smashes the little prick through the glass during a practice.

I'm guessing quite the opposite.
There's always more to the story than we know about.
I'm guessing the Sharks get into the final 4 this year with Heatley throwing down close to 45 goals. A playmaker like Thornton and a sniper like Heatley, that'll be fun to watch.

Good riddance I say
