I dare say that Pierre Trudeau did more for this country in one of his working days than Riden has done for this country in the whole 8 years living here and that's assuming Riden was born here.

And I am sure M.Trudeau would not have a probem with being an honoree. I don't think M. Marin would be either.. Cudos to them both for standing up for equal rights and equality. We have a much better Canada and standard of living thanks to them. Only the bible thumping right wing with their hiden agenda their so called moral slant on life would find this offensive... give over!

Wow. So much personal hate expecially in these new, enlightened times.
    Shame, shame.

I'm simply posting the news, not commenting on it. Wada really should be ashamed at that conclusion you jumped to. Kenmore also seeks to silence our gay conservative Christial members also.
Really people. Please try to keep your politics in check.

Lol. You need more experience telling bait from fish.
Perhaps Harper was right that you folks need more time cutting bait.

I don't try to silence anyone.. I am 100% for freedom of speech, expression and religion. What I am against is the political right wing who try to stifle those who support civil rights and the average working class person. We all know that the right wingers think its their way or the highway! We all know their slimey tactics.
I don't try to silence any gay, bi, or transgendered person, no matter their political stripe. I do however find it hard to believe that a gay person would be a tory supporter. Support a party that is anti-gay ( and its a fact) and that given the numbers in the house of commons would revoke the same sex marriage law and roll back many of the civil rights gained over the past 40 yrs.. thats all

Bait is fish. Ya suppose Harper would lose his cool if someone messed up his hair or pointed out he tweezes his eyebrows?

And no greater words were ever spoken. Trudeau was a champion for rights and freedoms and we owe the greatness of this wonderful country to him. Vivent longtemps sa mémoire et Dieu le bénissent

And Zipperfish.. it was no line. . it was necessary.. people were being arrested and and harassed for their sexuality. It was wrong and he knew it.. and it wasn't just about gay rights, the laws were archaic, outdated and did not reflect the society we live in..

What this does do is show which side this group will be on in the upcomming election. This might motivate some ignorant voters but others that think for themselves won't be swayed.

It will also trigger a backlash. Remember when the Libs wanted to rename BC's Mt. Logan? Remember the uproar over that?

No one will care if some random group chooses to adopt Trudeau but it will remind westerners why they don't vote Liberal.
