Almost $600 million will be spent to complete more than 500 "shovel-ready" infrastructure projects in the Toronto area. The federal government will contribute about $200 million and Toronto will provide the balance of the funding.

    Well I'll take vote buying with something substantial and real rather than buying votes by promising to scrap the GST then doing precisely nothing. It may be vote buying but at least someone's getting some work out of it. That someone will still be paying GST but at least they have a job.
