Take federal Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff. (Yes. Take him. Please.) He's guilty of virtually all of those flaws. Without promising a single hint of a platform, Ignatieff is showing he's the antithesis of the sleazeball politician we have all come to l

It must be a lot of effort to sit around all day to post another anti-Ignatieff every hour or so. I hope you guys are getting paid.

Has Stephen Harper's government done anything particularly foul or scandalous akin to the former Liberal government's putrid Adscam scandal?

    From your link:
Friends of the Canadian Wheat Board, a coalition of farmers and other Canadians in support of democracy and a farmer-controlled CWB, have filed a lawsuit against the government today. The lawsuit argues that the recent government amendment to repeal section 28 of the Regulations Respecting the Election of Directors of the Canadian Wheat Board, which set third-party spending limits, was enacted in an improper manner and that it violates the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Last Friday, the government enacted the regulatory change that has removed the $10,000 spending restriction on advertising expenses for third-party intervenors.

Well ok just for arguments sake lets say this is legit and they win their case....how on earth does that compare to the sponsership scandal?
The program ran from 1996 until 2004, when broad corruption was discovered in its operations and the program was discontinued. Illicit and even illegal activities within the administration of the program were revealed, involving misuse and misdirection of public funds intended for government advertising in Quebec. Such misdirections included sponsorship money awarded to ad firms in return for little or no work, which firms maintained Liberal organizers or fundraisers on their payrolls or donated back part of the money to the Liberal Party.

This involved millions of $$ over years of continued corruption. I guess that's about equal in your opinion but not mine.

"Akin" means similar, not equal. If you're not a farmer in western Canada, you probably don't give a shit. But crooked is crooked. And on that issue, he's 100% asshole.

Yours truly will be voting ABC until Harper is replaced.

I don't think that the Liberals have repented for the Adscam. Has Dion or Iggy made apologies for it? Have they kicked out the old boys club? Have they done anything to rebuild their party?

That may or may not be true, but you are talking past tense. If Harper gets a majority, he will destroy the wheatboard. I'm a little more concerned about the future than I am the past.

Adscam, the call of the truly paranoid.

The people involved have been punished. The whole thing has been made public. What does is have to do with today or more importantly, tomorrow?

As a conservative hack, would you really be interested if "they done anything to rebuild their party"?

As a conservative hack, why do you really care?

    Give me a break.

    lol. Whatever.

Everything. Past performance is all one can go on. If it weren't important then why do you care about anything Harpers done so far that disappoints you? After all that's in the past too.

I don't promote any particular party like a religion. I don't defend that party like it's a God. I don't spend ALL my time promoting that same religion here. You can't say the same but that's just my hunch.

Whatever. The difference is the adscam happened the very last time they were in office, and the last time they were in office is the best (only) reference one has to make a decision. Just like Harper -- the world ended as soon as Harper got into office
