Mr Sarkozy, who is notoriously sensitive about his height, may not have wanted a repeat of the fiasco in June when he was caught using a footstool when delivering a speech alongside Gordon Brown and Barak Obama on one of Normandy's nearby D-Day beaches.

Is anybody really that vain? :P

    Smart move Brenda.

Seriously, he should get over it. Accept what you cannot change. Trying to disguise it these ways just puts more emphasis on it.

It is a bitch being short though. I'm 5'1" and was the shortest in my class all through elementary school. One of those things that give other kids ammunition and make you a bully target. It only bother me now that even at 40, I sometimes get talked to as if by being short I must also be mentally a child and find there are those who speak to me in a really condescending way.

He is the same height as Joseph Stalin. He also went through extremes to appear tall.

Why do folks in those position fell the need to appear tall?

    Heights of world leaders:

At six feet tall myself, I wish I were taller. I'm around the Vancouver area though, and tower over much of the asian population.

Reminds me of the Rodney Dangerfield line: "I don't diet, I just started hanging out with fatter people. No respect."

It's the saddest case of gay infatuation you'll find anywhere. Ang Lee is working on a script: Brokeback Mounain 2 Kenmore's Forbidden Love
