I love Lou, but really a 12 year deal...that will put his retirement age at 42. He has already suffered a groin injury...I hope he is genetically up to the task because that is the only way I can see him playing for 12 more years injury free or a quick bounce back from one.

As long as there's a salary cap, there will be deals like this to get around it.

Hopefully Lou won't be like a lot of players that get a long term deal and have it go to their heads.

I like the Deal. Lou is gonna bring us the Cup, at least once. Mark my Words!!!

It'll be hard for that to happen because his salary is going to take up so much cap space, leaving them less room to sign FAs who can score.

That sorta makes sense, Stanley Cup contenders need a good goalie for the run. But also as Bootlegga mentioned, there is a need for a few that can score as well.

I think to get some scoring, they need to part with some d-men (given that that they have 9 NHL d-men now). Whether or not they can get an impact player is debatable. Still, if they go far again this year, they might, as success begets success.

Not to go off topic here, but look at the Habs.

They got a good one, Price when he's hot, in goal. The only thing is that they do not appear to have anyone that scores.
