We used almost 16,000 in Montreal, and given the ongoing threats from El-Qaeda, this should come as no surprise.

It's too bad recruitment hasn't grown the CF enough to alleviate some of this pressure.

Have you seen the recruiters? In it for their retirement postings....no drive and no enthusiasm.

No disrespect to members but the Canadian forces definately hasn't been pushed as a good career by our last government. The notion of getting a job and serving your country should pay better than the part time garbage workers of Toronto. How can recruiters be enthusiastic when their steeped in a culture that portrays the army as the lowest common denominator job?

Dead kids, weekly, coming home from Afghanistan is the biggest hurdle to recruitment.

Those dead kids are Canadians brothers, sons and daughters so you might want to reconsider that ignorant and cruel statement... but then lefties lead a charmed life here anyways.

That was WAY out of line. I neither said, meant nor implied ANY disrespect to any of our fallen heroes. You owe me a damned apology.

What dead kids comming home from Afghanistan are going to be hurting Canadian recruiters? You better get more help spinning this one..
You might as well call me a pedofile too. It's all the rage, I understand.

My god. Are you serious? Selling a career in the military to teenagers today is a tougher sell, with real war and real dead soldiers, than it was 10 to 20 years ago when there was little to no combat deaths among Canadians forces.

You've totally misread something into what I said and that's on you, not I. You owe me an apology. If you're a man with any honour, you'll admit so.

    What dead kids? Canadian kids?
I think you answered that with this statement:

"Selling a career in the military to teenagers today is a tougher sell, with real war and real dead soldiers, "

You've clearly said that Canadian recruiters will find it hard finding bodies when dead Canadians are comming home.

Show me that I got that wrong.

What you got wrong was that my statement was "ignorant and cruel". Now fuck off, 'cause you're way out of line and not man enough to admit it.

So you admit that the dead kids do you refer to are Canadian forces members yet you see nothing cruel or ignorant about how you minimize their actions?

Please revise your original comment and I'll be pleased to retract my objection.
    Till then, I stand pat.

I NEVER minimized their actions. You dreamt that part, which is why you still owe me an apology. I'm a friendly-fire victim here. 'Nuff said, you'll be a man or you won't...your call.
