In an unexpected move Tuesday, the NHL filed its own bid in U.S. bankruptcy court to purchase the Phoenix Coyotes in an effort to keep the franchise in Arizona.

This is just looking pathetic now by the NHL. One would think the fact that nobody wants to buy the team and keep it in Phoenix for a reason.

I think Rattman has finally lost it. Either that or he owes someone in Glendale HUGE.
Can't think of any other reason he's fighting so hard to keep a failed franchise in the city that failed it.

There's a brilliant precedent. Damn, Bettman's a dummy. And so is the City of Glendale who couldn't work out a lease with Reinsdorf.

You must be British  cuz "Bettman's a dummy", is a prime example of British understatement.

The NHL Board is made of the owners. Most of these, presumably, are wealthy people who got that way by knowing a thing or two about business. So why does Bettman think they would want to sink millions into a losing proposition like Phoenix? Sounds like it's getting personal with Bettman. And that's just bad business.
