In an unexpected move Tuesday, the NHL filed its own bid in U.S. bankruptcy court to purchase the Phoenix Coyotes in an effort to keep the franchise in Arizona.
I think Rattman has finally lost it. Either that or he owes someone in Glendale HUGE. Can't think of any other reason he's fighting so hard to keep a failed franchise in the city that failed it.
The NHL Board is made of the owners. Most of these, presumably, are wealthy people who got that way by knowing a thing or two about business. So why does Bettman think they would want to sink millions into a losing proposition like Phoenix? Sounds like it's getting personal with Bettman. And that's just bad business.

There's a brilliant precedent. Damn, Bettman's a dummy. And so is the City of Glendale who couldn't work out a lease with Reinsdorf.
