Vitter is somewhat right in his claim although the idiot asking the question felt this is part of our universal medical system and mashed that into his question. He's quite right in the fact that the US pays a higher price for most medical products than the rest of the world. This goes from things like hips and knees to brand pills. The brand companies would take a beating profit wise if there was an endless supply of their drugs reentering the US at a cheaper price. The fact is they wouldn't let this happen and as they have done in the past, the will discontinue supplying the source in Canada. The Canadian market is so much smaller than the US market than they can afford to shut the tap off. Years ago internet pharmacy in Canada was huge but the brand companies stepped in and cut off the supply, even to legitimate wholesalers and pharmacies. They would just shut down the supply of the drugs to Canada........it's not really about health.....its about money.

Interesting clip. If that policy was followed the result would be a trade war and export ban/cap. What he fails to mention is many generics in the US are not in Canada to buy in the 1st place.

Most if not all generics are cheaper in the US anyway, even with the exchange.

That's assuming we'll just sit on our hands and let them buy drugs and export them from Canada.

Does he think we're a bunch of dummies and just sit in awe at his masterplan as they ruin our system? What a fucking moron. What if Steve-O just pases a bill making it illegal to export these drugs. Problem solved.

    What a dickweed.
