Canadian military at work on pirate detector

There are no silver-bullet fixes for the hijacking threat that dogs 22,000 ships each year off Somalia but the Canadian military is trying to build a pirate detector of sorts that boosts the odds of thwarting these maritime marauders.

Now that'd be a suprise for the pirates.

Still it's not going to do much noticing the vessels if the cargo ships have no defense.

They need something like this:

don't pirates have a skull and cross bone flag? a good spotting scope from Cabelas should suffice.
