Hurricane Bill strengthened to a dangerous Category 4 storm in the Atlantic Ocean early Wednesday morning as forecasters predicted it would likely gather even more force.
Stay safe you all...been through a couple nasty ones in Miami myself. Just be safe and dont try to surf the waves...really dont do it even though it is tempting.
Just Shake to Recharge the Capacitor of a Batteryless Flashlight
NightStar battery-free flashlight is charged by holding the flashlight horizontal to the ground, shake it gently length-wise so that the magnet slides back and forth through the copper coil. You will have light as long as you have a NightStar Batteryless Flashlight and the energy to shake!
"Strutz" said Well, take care and stay safe. Along with the crapload of food I trust you have stocked up on "medicinal" items as well...
Oh yeah I got pot galore (jk).... that'll make the card games more interesting. Maybe I should also pick up some beers.
But it should be fine. Juan was a tad intimidating when I decided to stroll out into the middle of it and I had to stop and turn back because of the road being blocked over by chest high piles of branches and trees.
At that point I figured I should get back inside. Of course 5 seconds into walking out into the rain, my raincoat and myself were soaked through.
I've been in many hurricanes, mostly right off Cape Sable Island and as a kid, my brother and cousins would go and get a large tarp, grab each corner and use it like a parachute to glide accross my grandfather's field by the shoreline. We'd travel about 10-15 feet or so. Loads of fun.
I never heard of any homes being destroyed by a hurricane in my life around here and at worst, a tree or three will fall here and there and we're stuck without power for a day or two.
They're saying it'll most likely be just a Cat 2 when it hits us, but at worst a Cat 3. Juan hit Cat 3 winds during one part of the night, that I heard on the radio, but officially I think they said it was just a 1? I've been in 1's and 2's, and Juan sure as hell wasn't a 1.
But we'll have to see. This will be my fience's first hurricane, since she's from Australia and all. Has a friend coming next week too.... should be funny coming to a disaster zone to start your vacation.
Bout time, it's getting too damn hot here. It's time for a cool down anyways.
I got my BBQ, jerk off flash light, candles and a crap load of food.
I expect at worst, power out for 1-2 days.
I've seen them make weird turns that nobody expected though.
Like that guy?
jerk off flash light
Strutz, never saw that video before?
