They shifted the track slightly to the west today. Looks like a good bet for NS.

I've seen them make weird turns that nobody expected though.

But it should be fine. Juan was a tad intimidating when I decided to stroll out into the middle of it and I had to stop and turn back because of the road being blocked over by chest high piles of branches and trees.

At that point I figured I should get back inside. Of course 5 seconds into walking out into the rain, my raincoat and myself were soaked through.

I've been in many hurricanes, mostly right off Cape Sable Island and as a kid, my brother and cousins would go and get a large tarp, grab each corner and use it like a parachute to glide accross my grandfather's field by the shoreline. We'd travel about 10-15 feet or so. Loads of fun.

I never heard of any homes being destroyed by a hurricane in my life around here and at worst, a tree or three will fall here and there and we're stuck without power for a day or two.

They're saying it'll most likely be just a Cat 2 when it hits us, but at worst a Cat 3. Juan hit Cat 3 winds during one part of the night, that I heard on the radio, but officially I think they said it was just a 1? I've been in 1's and 2's, and Juan sure as hell wasn't a 1.

But we'll have to see. This will be my fience's first hurricane, since she's from Australia and all. Has a friend coming next week too.... should be funny coming to a disaster zone to start your vacation.
