This guy is 30 and these are the best excuses he could come up with? My 4 year old is more of an adult

Oh I don't know, being from Toronto is a pretty good excuse...

Yeah, they're sorry they got caught is what they're sorry about. I know people that don't own guns and have never been hunting that know you don't kill ducks on the water, from a vehicle, out of season.

Reminds me of the asshole(s) that blasted a pair of eagles right out of their nest, in my old stomping grounds. They never did get caught tho. The people in the Cambridge area were someeeeeee pissed about it too.

This kind of blatant disregard for animals is usually an indication of how they respect other people. Frankly, if I were them, I’d seriously consider moving elsewhere. I don’t think the apology will make much difference. I certainly didn’t find it convincing.

"What can I say? We've never been in any kind of trouble before. We're just three young guys who made a stupid mistake," says Fraser.

"Not that it's any excuse, but we honestly didn't know it was crime -- if we did we wouldn't have uploaded it to the internet and we never would have done it in the first place.

"We really didn't know and we're very sorry about it."

Ignorance of the law is not an excuse.

    • Hunting without a license.
    • Hunting out of season.
    • Killing ducks who are either too young to know how to fly or are adults who just molted their feathers, thus can not fly/escape, ie: "OUT OF SEASON" and unfair.
    • Shooting a firearm from within a moving vehicle.
    • Killing animals without discretion and for no other purpose other then to kill for their own amusement.

And they didn't think there was anything slightly wrong with what they did?

They're not "young guys" as one of them is a year older then I, and hell.... all are well within the adult range of age to know wtf is right and what is wrong.

They knew what they were doing was wrong, which is why they were having such a hoot doing it and video taping it.... the only thing they didn't account for was that they'd get caught by uploading a video onto the internet with very little detail to track them down by.... or so they thought.

He knows many people, including furious hunters and livid animal-rights advocates, see him and his comrades as blood-thirsty savages who killed the ducks for a sick thrill.

But really, says Fraser, that's not who they are. Not at all -- the laughter over orphaned ducklings and dying birds was out of character.

"Is there remorse over killing the ducks? Absolutely. We're all pet owners here, both cats and dogs, and we're not in the habit of killing animals normally."

He says sorry again, repeating that he had no idea duck hunting from the window of a car, with a rifle, was not allowed in Saskatchewan.

Oh no... that was totally our of character for us, we're not normally in the habit of killing animals..... "normally"

Then what exactly happened in their little brains that made thing think that this was a perfect time to get out of character, our of their normal habit, and start gunning down ducks that can't escape with a semi automatic rifle from the comfort of their own vehicle..... while filming the entire thing and then making it public by uploading to the internet for all to see?

    No explanation... hmmmm....

"I feel bad for the hunting community and we understand how this has portrayed them, giving hunting a black eye."

It doesn't give hunters a black eye, it gives piss ant little city folk who think they can do whatever they want and try and give the puppy dog response when caught red handed..... a black eye.

These guys arn't hunters, and they're not damaging any hunter's reputations. The fact that they're so clueless, be that by genetics or by trying to play dumb, just goes to show that they have no real understanding of what they done and are just trying to say whatever comes to mind that may cover their ass from a mob attack.

And today, in court, the charges will be heard and their names will be made public. Fraser says he'll say sorry one last time and he hopes it's enough.

"If they give us a chance to speak, we're going to offer up a very sincere public apology," he says.

    "We're really sorry."

If the first 20 damn times didn't win anybody over, what makes you think 20 more public apologies will work?

I say shoot them in the kneecaps, one shot each cap, with a .22.... then everybody can move on from this whole mess.

I note that they're too damn dumb to have even tried to use the "I-was-drunk" defense. It's also highly unfortunate that the oldest one has done some breeding already. Stupid fucks. Go back to Toronto already. We've got enough redneck douchbags in this part of the world already and we don't need more bozos from down East coming out here trying to out-do the stupidity of some of the locals.

Their just upset they got caught. This ranks up with killing stray cats or pissing on war memorials.

Well now that you just told me, we can't do that..... Gawd Geez Man!

It's perfectly legal to do if we don't know it's illegal, but now you ruined the whole damn thing.

Safe gun use, along with ethics/values around killing animals, is part of a culture that is learned(usually father, grandfather, etc). Scary that these guys are looking to YouTube for guidance on what's right and wrong when it comes to guns and hunting (if you believe them).

I am wondering where they got the guns. They obviously (hopefully?) don't have a PAL/FAC, so either they borrowed guns from someone that does, or the guns aren't properly registered. What if you have unregistered guns that are used to commit a crime? What if you leant out your registered guns to someone without a PAL and they committed a crime with that gun?

I have a feeling there will be more people in trouble before this all plays out.

    Kinda a Ricky Mentality:

"Well Geez Julian, I wasn't trying to rob the fk'n place but my gun fell out and Trinity shot it off, the fk'n cameras were taping the whole fk'n thing and it kinda looked like we were robbing the place.... so I figured I'm not going to jail for robbing the place and not take anything, so I took some sh*t, what's the big deal? Here, have some pepperoni....."

Well, ok not the exactly same thing, but the self induced ignorance of one's actions is the same.
