OTTAWA — The Opposition Liberals called on the Harper government to clarify its position on the economy Wednesday, after the country's finance and trade ministers delivered mixed messages on whether the recession is over.

    The recession may be over, but it's a deep hole we've got to climb out of, and it's going to take a long time for that, whether or not the Conservatives want to admit it.
