Professor Gates is a race-baiter from way back. He has made a career of documenting what he sees as systemic racism by white Americans and American institutions against African-Americans. Given his overbearing and contemptuous manner in television intervi

Nice article and I agree with the author to a point, what he failed to mention is that when the arresting officer asked Mr. Gates for identification to prove that he in fact did live at the residence, Mr. Gates refused to produce it and then continued to accuse the officer of racism. In fact and action Mr. Gates deserved arrest and should shut up and take his medicine. People like him "race baiters" as the article calls him, are counterproductive to the whole idea of equal rights. A white man in this situation would have to provide ID and prove that he lived there why did Mr. Gates think he was exempt from this?
