Calgary approves cowboy hats for downtown police

Good idea. A hell of a lot more practical hat.
Here in BC they can have baseball hats that they wear backwards.

No, they'll probably be the same as the black hats worn by the mounted police. It's kind of a neat idea, it will add a bit of character to the police service.

It's a symbol of cow town and where the city came from, it's a good idea. They give most of the beat guys hats during stampede anyway (it's like the red river ex only with a rodeo).

they should create a new event for the mounted cops at the Stampede. Roping fleeing fugitives.

Just think about it Choban, there's about a 3 million brown trout flushed down the towels daily in Alberta that ends up in their little lake in one form or another.

Got a ticket in Calgary once for not wearing a cowboy hat. They should approve 'picking-your-nose-and-eating-it' too since that's how they spend most of their time.
