Muslims plain and simple are a threat to any non-muslim person on the planet

But Tamimi has loudly renounced democracy, explicitly praises suicide bombers, and he’s said he’d even be happy to blow himself up in Israel: “It’s the straight way to pleasing my God and I would do it if I had the opportunity.” Tamimi distinguishes good Muslims from their adversaries this way: "We love death. They love life."

Tamimi recently proclaimed: “I don’t believe in democracy anymore,” and it was at an anti-Israel rally in Dublin only three months ago that Tamimi declared: “With regard to their attitudes to liberation, I say ‘Long Live the Taliban’.”

Now this guy is what I'd dub as an idiot and has no business being in Canada.

Discounting Korbens comment as I don't agree with it, we have as much to fear from any radical wing of any religion.
Having said that I do have a question. What the hell is a man that advocates suicide bombing, praises and supports the Taliban and is an addmitted member of Hammas and has ties to the palistinian movements even allowed into our country? Immigration needs to start doing it's job and keep wing nuts like this guy out of here regardless that they hide behind the ideals of scholarship. Pure BS rantings from the type of people that won't be satisfied until we are all dead.

    He's a Brit so that's why he's in Canada.
I guess Ryerson picks it's instructors the same way political parties pick their candidates.. Poorly.

People that make blanket statements are a greater threat to most people on the planet than most Muslims are.

People that make blanket statements are a greater threat to most people on the planet than most Muslims are.

I will answer this by answering a very common question that is asked

If Islam is violent, why are so many Muslims peaceful?

This question is a bit like asking, "If Christianity teaches humility, tolerance, and forgiveness, why are so many Christians arrogant, intolerant, and vindictive?" The answer in both cases is obvious: in any religion or ideology there will be many who profess, but do not practice, its tenets. Just as it is often easier for a Christian to hit back, play holier-than-thou, or disdain others, so it is often easier for a Muslim to stay at home rather than embark on jihad. Hypocrites are everywhere.

Furthermore, there are also people who do not really understand their own faith and so act outside of its prescribed boundaries. In Islam, there are likely many Muslims who do not really understand their religion thanks to the importance of reciting the Quran in Arabic but not having to understand it. It is the words and sounds of the Quran that attract Allah's merciful attention rather than Quranic knowledge on the part of the supplicant. Especially in the West, Muslims here are more likely to be attracted by Western ways (which explains why they are here) and less likely to act violently against the society to which they may have fled from an Islamic tyranny abroad.

However, in any given social context, as Islam takes greater root -- increasing numbers of followers, the construction of more mosques and "cultural centers," etc. -- the greater the likelihood that some number of its adherents will take its violent precepts seriously. This is the problem that the West faces today.

So I stand by my statement. Any Muslims, any true Muslim who follow the teachings to the letter is a threat.

“The racist right will talk about these things to frighten people about immigrants. The liberal-left has abandoned its responsibility to fight medievalism. And nobody wants to talk about what is really happening here.”

I'm not so sure how racist the right in Canada is anymore but I don't think truer words have been spoken about the left.

As for this Tamimi guy, he should be deported along with any of his sympathizers. There's nothing wrong with being a Muslim, but full out support for a group like the Taliban is beyond ridiculous. A simple look at the history of the Taliban should be all the convincing anyone needs to continue fighting extremism.

The racist right will talk about these things to frighten people about immigrants.

The most common defense of the liberal-left or minority groups in Canada is that if someone says something that can reflect badly or not in favour of a non-Christian/minority group they are racist or fascist. No matter what the reasoning a person may have or facts to back it up once they have been called a racist or fascist no one seems to care what that person had to say, any facts or proof they may of had to back up a statement is considered void.

And nobody wants to talk about what is really happening here

Anyone who does try to talk about what is really happening here is labeled as a racist or fascist. Even if that person is not on the right side of the political spectrum.

The liberal-left has abandoned its responsibility to fight medievalism.

The liberal-left hasn't abandoned its responsibility to fight "medievalism" so much as it has chosen to ignore one of the man causes of it and try to sweep it under the carpet to hide it from public view as it pokes a real big hole in left theology. The left has an idea that all cultures, races, and religions can co-exist peacefully. What they never planned on was there being a religion that has strict rules against such an idea, Islam. Unlike Christianity where the Bible and Christian traditions are continually reinterpreted, the "gate of ijtihad" as the Muslims call it has been closed for centuries. Meaning that Islamic rules and traditions are not open for reinterpretation in a modern context. Convert or die is still taught openly, but to raise that concern is to be called racist (don't know how because Islam is an idea not a race). The left has to tip toe around the subject of Islam, because Islam and liberalism are not capable. In fact the European Court of Human Rights determined that "sharia is incompatible with the fundamental principles of democracy". To admit that there is a large religion that cannot fit into the Liberal idea of everyone being equal and co-existing would be a huge blow to any left leaning party politically.

Some people try to point out that Islam teaches peace and will point to Muslims who say the same thing, and they leave it at that. Yet they think that a Muslims idea of peace and a westerners idea of peace are the same thing, which they are not. The Muslim Brotherhood the world's oldest and largest Islamic political group tell that Islam is a religion of peace, what they avoid telling you is that Islam teaches peace by bringing the whole world under one god (Allah), and that violence is necessary to do that. In other words, Islam is a religion of peace that will come when everyone is Muslim or at least subjected to the Islamic state. And to establish peace, Muslims must wage war.

What he says is protected by our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. What he says are his religious beliefs, therefor it is protected and he has the rights to say it. Though if a white Christian male were to say anything like that he would be thrown in jail.

    edit: grammar

Prove it. Show me how many people of a minority or special interest group who have promoted violence against the majority who have been punished, vs how many people of the majority who say the same thing but against a minority or special interest group who have been punished?

Good place to start is by looking at complaints made to the CHRC.

I do not mind being called an idiot if you can prove I have said something idiotic.
