OTTAWA — Canadians support the idea of using fingerprints and other biometric information to identify those coming to Canada or to prevent abuse of government programs, according to a public opinion poll conducted for the immigration department

I would be happy with biometric information being taken of anyone coming to Canada. I would be more happy if we made sure that they knew how to speak English or French, so that we could communicate with them. Lot easier to make friends, get jobs, enjoy public activities and get involved in the community when everyone can speak the same language

I don't see what the problemis. The idea is security and safety for everybody.

If this information is stored on a card passage acroff the border can be expidited as the information just electronically read.

My big concern is that crossing the border not became any more of a pain in the ass than necessary. It is my hope that one day the border will as free as it once was befor 9/11.
