MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma A 23-year-old woman who got a friend to kill her Jack Russell terrier was charged with skinning the puppy to make a belt out of its hide.
WTF is with people lately and cruel acts to animals? The dog was shot 10 times??? If the intention was to kill it then one shot would have been quite sufficient. Making a belt out of it's hide...that's just sick.
"ShepherdsDog" said how is it any sicker than making something out of fox or wolf?
Exactly my thought. As sick as this sounds, I have friends who go out and hunt bears. I don't see any difference other than the fact this was domesticated.

Then you think its OK to cook and eat cats and dogs no different then cows and chickens.
You are right that in essence its no different then using the fur of other animals. The only real difference is in how we were raised to think of certain animals as pets and others as food.
we tend to think others should think the same way and thats just not the case.

While I'm definitely not anti-hunting, I really don't see a use for killing animals for just their fur anymore. There are some places in the Far North where it may be necessary, but there is no reason someone needs a mink(or any other animal raised for its fur) coat, other than as a status symbol.
@ Yogi...... sounds like you know this fact from experience.

Nice point, but wrong. Revenge was the motive, not a warm jacket.

I think you answered your own question.
how is it any sicker than making something out of fox or wolf?
Generally, the fox wasn't killed and skinned because it was the gift of an ex lover whom is now in the bad books of the owner...
But in this case it was an act of revenge against her ex-girlfriend. That's what makes it so terrible. The dog was killed to make a point.
Damn it! Beat me to it!

So what? I can say that virtually all people who hunt do so for sport rather then need.
They killed animals for their own enjoyment. How is that not animal cruelty also?
She killed a dog and skinned it. Are bear skin rugs illegal? Trophy heads?
She got charged only because it was an animal that our society protects above others for our own reasons.
revenge isn't the issue.
