Isn't it sad that they will post pictures of dead beat dads but at the same time they don't have anything similar for registered sex offenders.

I was thinking that, again it's open season on dads but welfare queens with a string of kids from a dozen failed mariages are always poor victims. Being a single mom is hard but it takes two and I wonder how many of these dead beat dads were coupled with women who already have a string of ex's.

That is what I wonder too... I wonder how many of those dead beat dads are really not that dead beat, but fed up with working for her and her "needs".

I know child support is not the same as spousal support, but women sure know how to use their exes, and their money...

There is also the fact of how many of these dead beat dads are actually working hard supporting another family as well. My BIL was certainly no dead beat dad but when he and my sister had a child and got married he had already had another child with another women. She consistently filed/sued for increases in child support and even though he had 3 more children with my sister she got what was essentially half of his income. She even had the audacity to try and claim some of her income when she started working so they could pay the bills. This bitch (and I'm cleaning this up) actually claimed that since his household income included my sisters (his wife) as well that the settlement should take that into account. No mention of the fact she wasn't working and was living with her BF (though not "officially") and that he was supporting a family of 6.

I'm with Brenda. Spousal support should be non-existent and child support should take into account the father has to live and have a life also.

I'm all for nailing the dead beat dads, but this is going too far. There ARE situations where the financial obligations simply can't be met for a period of time AND, as previously pointed out, I'd rather know if there was a pedophile on my block than if someone was a couple months behind on support payments.

I looked through some of the "dead beat" dads.......and one women and noticed that most were in the construction or related industries. Maybe they're having their own troubles and simply can't afford to do much other than survive. Although if they're not........post away.

The Alberta Ministery of Justice should be careful with this. My ex once reported that I hadn't made child support payments in five years. I received a letter from FMEP stating that all my assets had a lien against them. I then produced ALL the receipts. I had kept them from the beggining.
I could have filed some sort of charges against my ex but I didn't see how that would help my young daughter. However, in my dealing with the FMEP I found only closed minded women with an agenda. Get the man.
I'm happy to say things have since ironed themselves out; but its not always the man that is in the wrong. These programs often view all men the same.

My brother in law is going through a pretty bad time right now. He knocked up this girl and she's a complete wing nut. She lives with her mother who can't seem to hold down a job. She'll get a job, go once or twice then skip work and bail after the first week. So she basically lives off the money the government sends her and then mooches off the daughter for what ever else she needs. She all ways has smokes, weed and booze but when the younger daughters (yes there's more than one sadly) go to school they never have lunch with them. One time my wife was talking to her about signing her kids up for soccer and she replied she couldn't afford it then promptly asked my wife to give her a lift to the store to buy a carton of smokes. Soccer costs a whole $25. It's disgusting.

So any ways, the brother in law wants to do the right thing and help support the kid but he knows any money he send the chick is just going to end up going to support the mom. He gave her a pre paid Walmart card once only to see them come back with a case of condensed milk and a bag full of cloths for the mom. What's the guy to do?
