Flames in plans to host outdoor game on New Years Day

The Calgary Flames may be a part of the Winter Classic in 2010. The National Hockey League and NHLPA are in discussions that would see the Flames host the second of two outdoor games on New Year's Day.

This only make sense , they just have to rent the extra seating built for the Grey Cup, for a couple of months. I’m sure it’s cheaper than setting it up a second time. Hope they get a nicer day than what Edmonton got.

Don't go standing in line for tickets yet Dino. The NHL ice maker paid a visit to McMahon and left scratching his head wondering what to do with that mountain that runs the length of the field, they call a crown.

I don't know why it would be a big deal, every field has a crown, they lay down plywood, haul in sand to level it off. They'd just have to haul in more.
