It takes time, but it is good to see the people want change.

They can count until the end of time. The results will go the way the ayatollahs want it to. And, even if Mousavi wins, it's the Guardian Council that runs Iran, not the president who is just a public face.

"The Basij militia is a volunteer paramilitary force fiercely loyal to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who has the final say on all matters of state."

Any government that has a position called "Supreme Leader" is, by definition, not a democracy and, therefore, any election is a complete and utter farce.

The Queen of England is the supreme leader of Canada. Are our elections a complete and utter farce?

True, but even the spectre of a public recount is a move
    the bosses werent expecting.
Clearly, things have changed there, they should keep it up.

What are you rolling your eyes at? You said "any government". That includes ANY government.

It's good to see that the moderates in that country have decided to stop taking the abuse by the hard line clerics.

It takes a lot of courage is that situation to stand up and be counted.

I wouldn't call her the "Supreme leader", rather the highest ranking one, being the head of state. That doesn't make her supreme because of the checks and balances within Canada.

But the Queen has the final say on all of our laws. She doesn't exercise this power, but she has it.
