Kids cost money, sometimes all of it.

Do you know how common people hide money at home, even in Canada, especially with older people?

I worked in banks before.
Every time a home robbery was in the news, we would have seniors come in with boxes of old, moldy money.

Considering what the banks in NA have been doing with people's money in the last few years, it's perfectly understandable.

If they don't find that mattress, I'm guessing the daughter will find herself quickly disowned.

Canadian banks have been paying people interest. Maybe not much, but more than you get from a mattress.
