    Investment in mass transit is a very good thing. If only our federal government would build something similar in the West, linking Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.

    Unfortunately things like this only go to areas where the politicians need, or want votes.

    I'd be all for that. A high speed line would be best, but even a regular train (150 km/h)like they have running between Toronto and Montreal would be fine.

    A triangle (or even an L shaped line Vancouver - Calgary - Edmonton) serving those three cities would serve at least four million people, more if it had some stops along the way, like in Red Deer, and Kelowna or Kamloops.

    It's too bad that we can't get the federal and provincial governments onboard something like that.
