The first accredited Islamic college in the US is being planned by an influential Muslim body hoping to produce "a generation of indigenised scholars".
Well, to begin I have no idea where they get the "7 million Muslims in the US" quote, since most independent research still see it as maybe 3-4 million.
Anyway, I never heard of the organization, but as long as the funding does not come from questionable sources, like Saudi Arabia, I couldn't care less.
Why does this need to be controversial? We've had Catholic schools on this continent for over a century. The United States has several Baptist colleges. Now it's a problem when a different religion wants its own schools? Horse hockey!
