I've never seen an unflattering photo of Michaëlle Jean. She's gorgeous even with seal blood dripping from her lips.

I'd hardly call her our Braveheart, but kudos to her for doing it. I really wish PETA the EU would pull their collective heads out of their collective asses and see that this is part of teh Inuit way of life as well as a means of economic survival for many in the Atlantic and Northern regions.

Not bloody likely! She's nothing more than window dressing for an unnecessary govt appointment.

Talk about diminishing the story of William Wallace. How they can compare someone who is fighting for the seal hunt to Wallace is beyond me.

    Wow! Talk about being conflicted!

I agree the GG position is a waste of time and money, however I have to give her credit for what she did. This has nothing to do with the seal hunt. This is one of the main food sources of the traditional Inuit peoples and what she did was polite and gutsy. I doubt I could have done it.

Perhaps she was just a little peckish is all. :D

You are what you eat. She's all heart.

The queen is, as far as I know, a pretty classy, intelligent lady. I'd actually be suprised if she thought what her rep did here was a bad thing...

It's no secret that Margaret Wente like to over-use the ol' hyperbole. Just another case of an overpaid Globe columnist with too much time on her hands.

...as intelligent as 600 years of inbreeding can make a person.
