A convenience store clerk wouldn't open the register for a robber but gave the man $40 from his own pocket after the robber told him he needed the money for insulin.

Heart's in the right place however the guy just validated to the criminal that this is the way to make money when he's short for his "insulin". The clerk may have endangered someone else in the future.
