What is there problem? It's just a military show. They won't sell anybody any of it. So it's not like you should be afraid of gangs rolling around in armoured IFV's.
It's just a place where military buffs can look at all the awsome hardware.
Does anyone else see the irony in this? We are a free democratic country and as such we NEED a functioning armed forces. These idiots should realize this and do something that would actually make a difference in the world.

I agree about the Armed Forces but we do have a functioning armed forces already. It should be larger with more and better equipment but what are you going to do. Canada before we adopted the CADPAT had horrible uniforms. Slightly in those days our military was slighty more modern IMO than when we entered Afghanistan. I mean we use to have Chinooks and I believe we also has some form of light attack choppers.
The problem with our government is that whenever we make any slight military advancement and reach any economic crisis or fall. They always look to the military to do some garage sale. Which is idiotic as we need a military and the military needs that equipment. Spending 10x as much to originally buy it than what they sold it for. They just completly waste money and have no idea how to handle money.
However despite our military disadvantage. Canada has done more difference in the world than any other country. WW1 we had pretty much every teen that was the right age to join up in the military. We had a huge military back then and we spearheaded the allies in WW1. WW2 most of our military was stationed back home. Either because they were worried of a invasion of Canada or as reservists.
During the attack on Britain, Britain was being strangled by constant bombings and resource cuts. As the germans were strangling there trade routes. Canada had some RCAF fighters in Britain who helped the RAF fighters to defend off the german bombers and air raids. Canada was the only country that could send much needed supplies to Britain and built a navy fleet able to counter Nazi u-boats as they were the ships orderded to attack trade fleets to Britain. Many Canadian sailors died just trying to get supplies to Britain to help there citizens and continue there war efforts. Contrary to American beliefs. D-Day was not a American war and Canada played a very big part in it. For example we helped liberate Italy I believe it was. We were attacking on land and Americans were landing by sea. The liberation was a joint effort but a American General was celebrated by the Italians and the American troops for the liberation of Italy.
We have done the most peace keeping missions than any other country and a lot more successful ones. When things get headed a lot of countries retreat there peace keeping forces incase they become casualties of the conflict but Canada never did. Infact there was many heroic efforts by Canadian UN troops to maintain peace. One of which I believe was building a wall between Militia groups and Citizens. A wall of Canadian Troops. If they wanted to civilians they had to go through the troops first which they tried. One battle I remember seeing on the history channel I believe of a small group of Canadian troops with nothing more than small arms and a couple mounted 50 cals taking cover at this farm keeping a very large militia force coming out of this forest across the farm at bay. This militia force had armour support and motor support. Despite these major disadvantages the Canadian Troops held there ground. They ignored the tanks and motor fire and just kept shooting.
The militia diddn't advance far or suffer much casualties before they took a hint and buzzed off. As they probally thought the Canadian troops had some sort of re-inforcements and armor support if they wern't retreating. There is no military in the world that is as selfless and makes use of there soldiers as well as the Canadian Forces.
Sorry Bacardi, I should re-iterate, I know the extent and history of our military, My Father still serves as did many generations of my family,I have friends serving in Afghanistan now and others who have been on P.K. missions. My 1st cousin is in Wainright as we speak. My point was to the protesters being against something that gives them a country where they are free to protest, hence the irony.

Like it or not, Canada does have an international arms industry and showing it off is a start to selling it.
What? Now you libs don't want Schrieber's palls selling tanks to China?

There is some nice coin to be had in selling weapons.
