    but ask any schoolkid what European discovered the Americas and they'll proudly yell out Columbus... then you can tell them NO! Leif Ericsson!

    I went though the American school system in Chicago after transferring from Toronto in 1st grade... all we got was Columbus until later on...

    Asians were the first to arrive and many think that they came in waves, with the last being Polynesians who settled along the Pacific North West, or at least traded and intermarried with locals. There are too many similarities in art, architecture, culture and physical features to rule it out.
