    This is why I take a handgun when I camp or hunt.

    I hope you keep the gun away from your 18 year old whiskey :P

    I have seen more than one grizz and I have never considered carrying a gun or pepper spray.

    WTF is wrong with people??? The 12x16 sign on the hiway outside of Swan hills;
    GRIZZLY TRAIL>>>>>>> is a pretty good indication that this may not be a suitable or safe area to be taking kids camping!!!!

    Guns can't drink whisky. ;)

    I have a Silk Tassel on my .303 because that particular brand of whisky makes me a little more stupid than other brands. It's to remind me Silk Tassel + Hunting Rifle is a bad combination.

    I've seen lots of bears too. Black, Brown, Golden, Grizz. But I carry the gun because it makes a loud noise, and a rifle (usually positioned somewhere safe) is useless on a charging bear. I've never had to use it, and I hope I never will.

    Plus, I usually bow hunt.

    I have never seen a bear while hunting, but once I coyote starting running towards me which scared me a bit.

    I will never forget the time when I feel asleep in the woods, woke up and it was dark out, my walk talkie died, had no phone, and had no idea on how to get back. Luckily I was walking for about 10 mins when I see 2 people with flash lights and they ended up being part of my group.

    I couldn't image if I woke up and theres a bear right in front of me :lol:

    I have seen more than one grizz and I have never considered carrying a gun or pepper spray.When just out walking I usually carry bear spray or have a good dog with me. Hunting, why carry a handgun when you are carrying a shotgun? I would rather face any kind of angry animal (even a pissed off gopher) with a shotgun than a handgun. Riding my bike in the bush it helps to have bear bells on. Let's them get prepared to eat ya, eh!

    Don't be silly. Bears can't read.

    Like that time I was out hiking with my buddie. We came across an angry bear, and I sat down and put on my runners. My buddie said, "You can't outrun an angry bear! They can run as fast as a horse!".

    I said, "I don't have to. I just have to outrun you."

    I miss him.

    15 year olds are "boys" when the journalist is trying to draw sympathy.

    I just make sure that I camp/fish with guys that are fatter than me. I don't need to outrun a bear, so long as I can outrun at least one of my buddies.
