Just another reason we need to play nicely with the Yankees.

Not the kinda attitude we want to express when the possibility of use of arm force is openly stated Mr_C. Somethings not right if the diplomats haven't been nagging at each other and the war card comes out. Something been going on between Norway/Denmark and Russia that we haven't recieved news about?

Irregardless, this should be cause to strengthen artic forces as a whole, and step up the capacity to safeguard our oceans and airspace.

This should be labeled 'the cold war'. Battle over the cold artic ;).

Anyways am I the only one who thinks Russia is the biggest fucking morons on the fact of the planet. The only time they ever achieve peace is when there economy is shit. Whenever they get a boost in the economy like recently. They upgrade a few of there military toys and think there badass and just talk down to everybody.

This is going to be another cold war where Russia gets its ass handed to them and goes back to a poor house for another 50 years.

I feel sorry for Russia's populaton, soon they won't be-able to afford a pair of blue jeans again.

We need to build nukes before the conflict begins. We have all the technology and the uranium so it won't be much of a problem. We need deterrents.

Am I reading this right? The Russians are doing what Canada should be doing but isn't. Y'all want Canada to do it but Russia mustn't. Typical, ain't it.

If they stay in their space, there's no problem. If they want to use our ressources, that's something else. Past the north pole, this is ours.

The Danish, Norwegians and Americans have a fair bit to say on that point. There's a good article in the May 2009 National Geographic on this.

It would be nice to get back to conventional war.

    You have a link?

Me, I would go with the geographical lines so you do a triangle from the north pole. That is to the US (Alaska), that is to Canada (much of the arctic), that is to Greenland (Danemark) etc.

You think Canada should go to war over the Arctic? That's what this article is about.
