Amidst the hoopla surrounding the leaked Conservative Canada First Defence Strategy and the subsequent series of articles by David Pugliese, one overlooked item was the proposed creation of a 250 member Marine Commando Regiment (MCR) based in Comox, BC.
Are we going to be deploying our "Marines" from our obsolete supply ships?
Sometimes you just have to shake your head and mutter "what the fuck..."
Fuck, They can't afford to put gas in the ships, or even build new ones to replace ships that are older than I am.
The Air Force is threathening to shut down the no-birds and ground jets, and here someone is talking about creating another SOF.
We have 2 SOF's right now, Just add more people to these units and deploy when needed.
Now they are talking about setting up shop in BC What about the East.
I swear to fuck, These people need to be more accountable with our tax dollars....
Good idea, terrible fucking timing and thought process...WE should shoot our politicians... >_
That calls for a New Regiment!! Ahhh crap!
Good idea, terrible fucking timing and thought process...WE should shoot our politicians... >_
I'll bring the Alberta conservatives.
Mr C. will issue apologies after the fact to make sure it
all stays 'Canadian'
Now they are talking about setting up shop in BC What about the East.
What about the East? They have a much larger military presence than the West. We have the small Comox air base and the Esquimalt Pacific Navy group, and that's it. Nearest Army unit is in Edmonton, a 12+ hour drive.
As for being on the west coast why not. Why does the East get freaking everything.. Seems the Fat kid is crying for more chocolate yet again.
The Canadian military bugged out of the lowermainland years ago. Sure we still have CFB Esquimalt and CFB Comox on the island but they closed CFB Chilliwack and the Aldergrove station out here has nothing.
We still have several armouries out here with detachments like the Westies, Seaforth, 12th Service BCR's but at what strength levels. The closest actual CFB to the lowermainland is in Edmonton 12+ hours away. Or by a quick Rail ferry from Victoria. 2-3 hours if that would be at all possible.
They could sail alongside Salty Bob and the Pirates of the Saskatchewan.
Suprised they didn't station the Marines in Saskatchewan.
They could sail alongside Salty Bob and the Pirates of the Saskatchewan.
...and use genuine Saskatchewan seal skin bindings for parachute rigging!
Beats having some cook with a rifle boarding Somali pirate ships.
