Michael Ignatieff formally claimed the Liberal crown Saturday and wasted little time throwing down the gauntlet to Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

"For three years you have played province against province, group against group, region against region and individual against individual. When your power was threatened last November, you unleashed a national unity crisis and you saved yourself only by sending Parliament home.

Is he talking about his own divide and conquer party?

Even without the "quote", there was no question that was about Harper. A point for Iggy!

I should have thought of that. "They did it so can I"

No, actually Harper has been especially good at it. In fact without that tactic, he's out of a job.

This is just the kind of stuff brought to the public eye by someone with more credibility than Dion is going to get the Conservative booted out of power again. Either Steve leaves or Iggy is going to take over.

Relity of it was that the Professor couldn't beat Dion for leadership of the party before so I wonder how united and solid they'll be this time. :D

The best quote of his speech..."You have failed to understand that a prime minister has only one job: to unite Canadians. Mr. Harper, you have failed us," he said.
because that is exactly what the Ahole has done!

How'd they do at passing the hat around to raise money to help pay Dion's leadership debt?

Ignatieff won 97 per cent of the votes of the 2000-odd delegates at the party's three-day convention.

All hail the glorious new czar of the party...

Since he was the only candidate on the ballot, who did the 3% vote for?

He was the only one running and he still couldn't get 100% of the votes. ROTFL

I wonder if Chretien has ever heard the expression "the pot calling the kettle black"? The Lib's have run on platforms built around the concept of favoring the east and panjdering to Quebec for votes for close to 20 years now. Christ look at the very last election and Dions carbon tax. Could you pick a more divisive issue to campaign on? And I hear that they're talking about re-introducing it in the next election.
