Hammer used on twin boys after daughter, 5, molested

According to agreed facts, the man fired off a gun while confronting the boys and then, after drinking half a bottle of booze with their dad, he had the twins put their hands on his truck bumper so he could hit them with a hammer.

Let's hope they find a loophole with this one and the father is acquitted.

Maybe these little bastards'll think twice about pulling this type of shit again.

That's not really an appropriate way to punish these boys. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Maybe not, but wait til you have a daughter.

Pretty much guaranteed that if someone sticks something in her, you're gonna want to take a hammer to it.

I'd watch your back while you did it too.

Perfect example of a sentencing circle, isn't it.

Nah. Just a little pre-trial warm up.

The court should still issue the final jail term.

What trial. It's settled as far as I am concerned for the father. The kid won't get jail, cuz he is too young.
He better have learned his damned lesson now.

16 isn't too young for jail.

...As much as a hammer seems excessive...she was five years old and molested by his best friend's sons (aka people you'd think you can trust a bit). I'm actually surprised he had the restraint to not shoot the boys instead.

I'm not a fan of vigilante justice, but honestly, especially with sexual crimes, I can fully understand the motivation behind the father, and I think most good fathers would agree, and probably any father on that jury would as well

Using a hammer is a bit extreme IMO, but I guess it's pretty hard to find a razor strop these days, which would have made a much better disciplinary tool in this case. It's usage would also quiet a lot of the hoopla about this incident.

    I am ambivalent about this...

On the one hand, as a parent if this was my child that was the victim, I would lose my mind...and do something horrific and inexcusable. But I wouldnt be drinking with the parent of the two boys and then taking out my revenge.

But then I look at...why are two twin boys molesting a 5 year old? and is this possible learned behaviour?...regardless of what someones child has done, I dont think any parent would stand by and allow someone to shoot off a gun and then attack their kids with a hammer.

    Gotta love ambivalence

I'm not.. I'll be sure those punks will think twice before putting
their hands on someone elses' daughter again 8O

    Court would have done nothing.

As father as the father goes, temporary diminished capacity.
The fact the boys father was present for this may be a mitigating factor.

A belt would have worked fine but no,he had to fire off a shot first.
I bet they thought they were going to die that night.
Nothing like a half bottle of whiskey afterwards while deciding the rest of the punishment.
I can feel his anger but hell, these 2 friends are not the kind I would like as nieghbours.

During the late-night drive to Edmonton, the man pulled over, grabbed a handgun and told the teens to get out. He then demanded to know exactly what they had done and, after hearing the details, shot off a round.

I wonder if the dad's were upstairs pounding back a few while the twins were downstairs with a 5 year old girl. 8O

On March 31, 2007, the twins were visiting in Wetaskiwin and playing in the basement with the girls.

At one point, they took turns putting their hand underneath the clothes of the then-five-year-old girl and touching her privates.
