Canada to acquire attack drones: air chief

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - The next generation of unmanned aircraft in the Canadian military will be armed, but will be used selectively and within the boundaries of international law, says the head of the country's air force.

This would be a perfect capability to have up North. An armed deterrent that could patrol the NW passage 24 hrs a day, without sending a massive contingent of soldiers to do the same thing.

yes, it would be a great idea. And you would get your eyes and ears on theater for a fraction of the cost of maintaining deployed soldiers.
